I really enjoyed how David Bart focussed on how consumerism is ruining our world. In the "add to cart" photo it shows how everyone is so used to being able to buy everything that now things that were previously impossible to buy are being sold. It also shows how money, which is a concept made by humans, can take over someone's mind and brain. This series of work took my eye due to its permeability of the boundary between the real world and virtual space. It also raises questions about the future of the world and raises important discussions such as: overpopulation, rapid urbanisation and waste of natural resources.

www: I had good exposure. I prioritised aperture to get a good depth of field.
ebi: i should have thought more carefully of my photos as they were mostly bad quality. What do you mean? The actual photos or the editing. The actual photos were bad quality as I didn't take my time when taking them and I rushed them. In my best edit I should have used the eraser tool to get rid off the scrappy bits at the bottom. |

(a unique object, photomontage comprised of a black-and-white and a color photograph, each flush-mounted to foamcore and connected by metal nails) This photo is a fight against stereotypes of women. There is a women holding a hoover as if it was a child being coddled. This is showing how people think of women to be back in the 1900s. |
